General Education (GE - Gen Ed) Audit Request

Welcome to the General Education (Gen Ed) Audit Request for undergraduate à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã only. Here you will find the Audit Request Form, information regarding the Gen Ed, and Gen Ed requirements. The purpose of the Student Gen Ed Audit is to assess how and if a à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã’ credits can be used to fulfill General Education degree requirements. For the purposes of this audit, à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã must:

1. Be formally admitted to FAU
2. Have official updated transcripts on file with FAU - from all institutions previously attended

Once you have submitted the request form, an written response will be forwarded to you via e-mail. Students are encouraged to follow-up with their college academic advisor if they have questions about the audit results. This assessment focuses on Gen Ed requirements and does not address requirements specific to the major/degree program.

General Education (GE - Gen Ed) Requirements

All entering freshmen, transfer à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã with less than 30 credits, and transfer à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã who have not earned an Associate of Arts (AA) Degree must fulfill the University's Gen Ed requirements as part of their pursuit of the baccalaureate degree. While the classes do not necessarily relate to the major, they do provide a foundation of knowledge that all well-educated à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã should possess. The Gen Ed is composed of a total of 36 credit hours: Ìý

6 credits of CommunicationÌý

6 credits of HumanitiesÌý

6 credits of Social ScienceÌý

6 credits of Natural Science

6 credits of MathematicsÌý

6 credits of Additional Enrichment (completion of 6 credits from Humanities, Social Science, or Natural Science)
